The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2025 to recruit for various Group C posts such as LDC, JSA, and DEO in various ministries and departments of the Government of India.

Pay Scale

  • LDC/JSA: Level-2 (₹19,900–63,200)
  • DEO: Level-4 (₹25,500–81,100) and Level-5 (₹29,200–92,300)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian citizen or eligible as per government norms
  • Educational Qualification (as on 01.01.2026):
    • For DEO: 12th Pass with Mathematics in Science Stream
    • For LDC/JSA: 12th Pass from a recognized board
  • Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01.01.2026 (relaxations applicable for reserved categories)

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹100
  • SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/Women: Exempted

Selection Process

  • Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Objective type)
  • Tier-II: Computer-Based Examination (Objective & Skill Test/Typing Test)
  • Tier-III: Document Verification

Exam Pattern

Tier-I:

  • English Language – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
  • General Intelligence – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
  • Quantitative Aptitude – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
  • General Awareness – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 for each wrong answer

Tier-II: Consists of four sections including Mathematical Abilities, English Comprehension, Computer Knowledge Test, and Skill/Typing Test (qualifying in nature).
